SPECIALIST NURSING TRAINING

The program provides an opportunity for Palestinian nurses from Augusta Victoria Hospital in East Jerusalem, the premier Palestinian hospital offering oncology and nephrology services and treatment to Palestinians from throughout the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, to receive hospital-based training in specialty and sub-specialty fields including Nephrology and Dialysis, Oncology, Geriatric and Critical Care, over 18 months, delivered by Hadassah Medical Center’s esteemed Nursing School.
This project brings together Augusta Victoria and Hadassah’s nursing departments to…
- Build the capacity of nurses working in Augusta Victoria’s specialist departments.
- Improve the quality of nursing services at Augusta Victoria.
- Implement a ‘Train the Trainers’ course to garner capacity to train future cohorts of Palestinian nurses from Augusta Victoria and other Palestinian medical institutions, as well as nursing students from Palestinian academic institutions.
- Issue specialist certification based on the requirements of the Israeli Ministry of Health.
IMPACT
This initiative serves to implement Project Rozana’s mission of contributing to a resilient and independent Palestinian health system by bringing Israelis and Palestinians together through healthcare.
It creates networks of Palestinian and Israeli nursing specialists in long-term professional relationships, and a commitment to future development in the targeted specialties.
